Call 905-925-8427How AstraHive Pest Control gets rid of wasps in Schomberg
- Locate the nest and confirm the species and entry point.
- Treat at dusk. We treat the full nest with an approved product while the colony is inside.
- Remove the nest when it is safe. We do not seal the entry hole, because trapped wasps can chew into the house.
For safety we cannot service nests above the second floor.
Products are Health Canada approved and applied according to the product label, and our technicians are licensed by the Ontario Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks (MECP). Wasp and hornet nest work carries a 30-day warranty on the treated spot. A new nest in a different place is a new job.
More on wasps for Schomberg homeowners
- One detail that surprises most homeowners: the visible entrance hole is not always the nest. A wasp nest entrance can be located two to three feet away from the actual nest and queen inside a wall, ceiling, or the ground, which is why a proper inspection matters more than just spraying the hole you can see. - An active nest should be treated in the evening, when wasps are least active. (Health Canada: wasps)
- Yellowjackets and hornets are 10 to 25 mm long, with black and yellow or white bands on the abdomen. (Health Canada: wasps)
